Newspaper Subscriptions for College Students

If you are a college student you may overlook the need for a newspaper subscription. But there are actually some pretty beneficial reasons to get one.

I remember when I was a traditional college student there were racks and racks of free newspapers for students by the front door. We could put our student ID card in a slot and get a free copy of the local paper, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today each day.

Now that I am getting my masters online I have started to miss my free newspapers. I don't see the point in driving down to the university to get them, since it is over an hour away. So I have finally broken down and subscribed to my local newspaper.

The price isn't that bad considering the fact that the paper is full of coupons and sales sheets. I no longer have to search the internet for special deals on food and clothes. I have my coupons delivered to my door now, helps a lot when you are trying to feed a family of five plus a few roommates.

In addition to this the local paper provides me with all the local news. I know exactly what is going on in my city all the time. I can also used the classifieds to find local stuff for really cheap. I have to admit I am a second hand shopper extraordinaire.
There is also an awesome section that gives details of all the happening events in town as well as the local movie listings. The subscription price was definitely worth it for me.
